1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Leandro Barreto ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Code Career mobile application ("App" or "Code Career").

By accessing or using Code Career, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download, install, or use the App.

2. Description of Service

Code Career is a productivity application designed to help software developers track their professional growth. The App allows you to:

• Track 1:1 conversations with managers (date, topics, notes, mood, follow-ups)
• Manage burning topics with status, priority, and notes
• Log and track professional development courses (approval, progress, completion)
• Set and monitor annual goals, optionally linked to bonuses
• Create weekly reviews with AI-powered summaries (Pro feature)
• Analyze conversations with AI-powered insights (Pro feature)
• View a dashboard with year progress, goal tracking, and activity metrics

3. User Data

Code Career uses a local-first architecture. All your data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. You retain full ownership and control of all content you create within the App.

4. AI-Powered Features

Code Career includes optional AI-powered features that process your data through our backend proxy:

• Weekly Review Summaries: AI generates a summary based on your achievements, challenges, and feelings
• Conversation Analysis: AI reviews selected 1:1 conversations and provides recommendations

AI Usage Limits

• Free users: 1 AI call per day
• Pro users: Unlimited AI calls

AI Data Processing

When you use AI features:

• Your selected content is sent to our secure backend proxy via HTTPS
• Our proxy forwards the request to Google Gemini for processing
• The AI-generated response is returned to your device
• Your data is not stored on our servers or by the AI provider beyond the request
• You are responsible for the content you submit for AI analysis

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of professional development tracking
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Take responsibility for the content you create and submit for AI processing

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, or sell the App
• Attempt to bypass AI usage limits or subscription restrictions
• Submit harmful, abusive, or malicious content to AI features
• Use the App to store confidential company information that violates your employment agreements

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Code Career Pro

Code Career offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions:

• Code Career Pro Monthly: Billed monthly
• Code Career Pro Yearly: Billed annually (discounted rate)

Pro Features Include

• Unlimited AI-powered weekly review summaries
• Unlimited AI-powered conversation analysis
• All future Pro features

Subscription Terms

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase

General Purchase Terms

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does not process payments directly. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies. Prices may vary by region based on Apple's currency conversion.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Leandro Barreto and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

• The Code Career name, logo, and branding are property of the Developer
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App's source code without permission
• User Content remains your intellectual property

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information, including AI-generated content

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• AI-generated insights will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation
• The App will guarantee career advancement, promotions, or positive performance reviews
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data (local data loss due to device issues is outside our control)
• Career decisions made based on AI-generated insights
• Loss of profits or revenue
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which damages are sought.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit for AI processing
• Career decisions made based on the App's features or AI outputs

11. App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In case of any conflict between these Terms and the App Store Terms, the App Store Terms shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

You acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and the Developer, not Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
• Apple is not responsible for any claims related to the App

12. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice
• Update these Terms at any time
• Release updates to the App that may add, modify, or remove features
• Change pricing for premium features
• Modify AI usage limits for Free or Pro tiers

Continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by:

• Deleting the App from your device (this permanently removes all local data)

Upon termination:

• All local data stored on your device will be permanently deleted
• Your license to use the App will be revoked
• Active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through the App Store
• Sections regarding disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification shall survive termination

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
