1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Leandro Barreto ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Epilog mobile application ("App" or "Epilog").

By accessing or using Epilog, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download, install, or use the App.

2. Description of Service

Epilog is a personal health tracking application designed to help individuals with epilepsy organise and record their seizure-related information. The App allows users to:

• Record and track seizure events (date, time, duration, type, severity, location)
• Log triggers and recovery times
• Manage current and past medications, including dosage schedules and stock tracking
• Track medication side effects
• Keep a personal diary to track mood, stress, anxiety, energy levels, sleep quality, and daily wellbeing
• View statistics and charts about seizure patterns
• Export medication reports as PDF and diary entries in JSON/CSV formats
• Document emergency protocols for healthcare providers

Epilog Pro Features

Epilog offers an optional auto-renewable subscription ("Epilog Pro") that unlocks additional features:

• Ad removal: Removes all advertisements from the App
• Multi-patient support: Allows tracking data for up to 10 individuals (e.g., family members, dependants, patients under care), each with their own isolated data
• AI-powered insights: Optional daily wellness insights generated by Google Gemini AI, based on the user's diary entries, seizure records, and medication data from the last 90 days. Insights are medication-aware — they may include observations about medication adherence, potential side effects, and correlations between medications and seizure patterns (see Section 3 and Section 7)
• AI Doctor Report: On-demand generation of a comprehensive clinical summary designed for neurologist visits. The report includes seizure analysis, medication status, lifestyle observations, and key patterns — generated by Google Gemini AI based on your data within a selected period (30 days to 1 year). Reports can be exported as PDF
• Localised AI responses: AI-generated insights and Doctor Reports are produced in the language you select within the App (English, Portuguese, Spanish, or Dutch)

Epilog Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription processed through Apple's App Store. Please see Section 9 for full subscription terms.

3. Medical Disclaimer

The Developer created this App solely to help individuals organise and record seizure-related information in one convenient place. The Developer has no medical qualifications and makes no claims whatsoever regarding what is right, wrong, beneficial, or harmful for any epilepsy patient or any person with seizures.

By using this App, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• Epilog serves exclusively as a personal tracking and organisational tool — nothing more
• The App does not provide medical advice, medical opinions, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment recommendations of any kind
• No information recorded, displayed, calculated, or generated by the App (including AI-generated insights) should be interpreted as medical guidance or a substitute for professional medical advice
• You must always consult with a qualified physician, neurologist, or other licensed healthcare professional before making any decisions about your health, treatment, medications, or care
• In case of a medical emergency, you must contact emergency services (e.g., 112, 911) immediately — do not rely on this App in any emergency situation
• The App must never be used as your sole or primary source of health information
• The Developer is not responsible or liable for any health decisions, treatment decisions, medication changes, or any other actions you take based on information tracked, displayed, or generated by the App
• Statistics, charts, patterns, and analytics shown in the App are based solely on data you enter and are provided for personal informational purposes only — they are not clinical assessments

Regarding AI-Generated Content

If you enable the optional AI features (Epilog Pro), including AI Insights and AI Doctor Reports, you further acknowledge that:

• AI-generated insights and Doctor Reports are produced by a third-party artificial intelligence service (Google Gemini) and are not reviewed, validated, or endorsed by any medical professional
• Daily insights are general wellness observations only — they are not diagnoses, predictions, or medical recommendations
• Doctor Reports are formatted summaries of your self-reported data — they are not clinical assessments, diagnoses, or medical records and should only be used as a supplementary reference during medical consultations
• AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or irrelevant outputs
• Medication-related observations (including side effect correlations and adherence patterns) are based solely on the data you enter and are not pharmacological advice
• You must not act on any AI-generated insight or report without first consulting a qualified healthcare professional
• The Developer bears no responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, or consequences of any AI-generated content
• AI-generated Doctor Reports should never replace actual clinical documentation prepared by licensed healthcare providers

4. Prohibition of Misuse

To protect the wellbeing of all users, the following uses of Epilog are expressly prohibited:

• Using the App as a replacement for medical consultations, professional diagnosis, or treatment plans
• Relying on the App's data, statistics, or AI insights to make medication changes without consulting a healthcare professional
• Using the App to self-diagnose epilepsy or any other medical condition
• Using the App's multi-patient feature to manage the care of others without appropriate authority or professional qualifications
• Using the App in any way that could endanger your health or the health of others
• Sharing App-generated reports, Doctor Reports, or insights with others in a manner that misrepresents them as professional medical assessments or clinical documentation
• Presenting AI-generated Doctor Reports as official medical records or as a substitute for clinical documentation prepared by licensed healthcare providers
• Using the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or disassemble the App
• Redistributing, sublicensing, or reselling the App

5. Eligibility

Epilog is available for use by individuals of all ages. However:

• If you are under 18 years of age, you should use the App under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian
• Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's use of the App and ensuring data accuracy
• By allowing a minor to use the App, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on their behalf
• The multi-patient feature is intended for caregivers, parents, and authorised persons only — you must have appropriate authority to record health data on behalf of another individual

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of personal health tracking and organisation
• Provide accurate information when entering seizure, medication, and diary data
• Keep your device secure to protect the health data stored in the App
• Always seek professional medical advice for any health concerns — regardless of what the App displays
• Ensure that you have appropriate authority before entering data on behalf of another person using the multi-patient feature

You acknowledge that:

• The accuracy of statistics, analytics, and AI insights depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of data you enter
• You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your device if you wish to preserve your data
• Deleting the App will permanently remove all stored data from your device
• The Developer has built this App in good faith to help people — but it is not a substitute for professional healthcare

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information.

8. Advertising

The free version of Epilog displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. These ads help support the continued development and maintenance of the App. You may remove all advertisements by subscribing to Epilog Pro through the App Store. Advertising is subject to Google's advertising policies and terms.

9. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Epilog Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription with the following plans:

• Epilog Pro Monthly: €9.99 EUR per month
• Epilog Pro Yearly: €89.99 EUR per year (save 25%)

Subscription terms:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase

One-Time Purchases

Epilog also offers the following non-subscription in-app purchases:

• Tips (Small, Medium, Large): Voluntary one-time contributions to support the Developer

General Purchase Terms

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does not process payments directly. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies. Prices are in EUR and may vary in other regions based on Apple's currency conversion.

10. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Leandro Barreto and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

• The Epilog name, logo, and branding are the property of the Developer
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App's source code without permission

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information, including AI-generated content

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
• AI-generated insights will be correct, complete, or suitable for any purpose
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data
• Loss of profits or revenue
• Personal injury, health complications, worsening of medical conditions, or death
• Any adverse outcome resulting from reliance on the App's data, statistics, or AI-generated insights
• Property damage
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
• Any damages arising from actions taken or not taken based on information displayed by the App

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which damages are sought. You assume all risk associated with using the App.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any claim that you relied on the App for medical decisions
• Any data entered on behalf of another person using the multi-patient feature

14. App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In case of any conflict between these Terms and the App Store Terms, the App Store Terms shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

You acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and the Developer, not Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
• Apple is not responsible for any claims related to the App

15. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice
• Update these Terms at any time
• Release updates to the App that may add, modify, or remove features
• Modify or discontinue the AI Insights feature at any time

Continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting the App from your device. Upon termination:

• All data stored in the App will be permanently deleted
• Your license to use the App will be revoked
• In-app purchases are non-refundable upon deletion (subject to Apple's refund policies)
• Sections regarding disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification shall survive termination

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
