Summary: Workflow Flows shows a visual timeline of Jira issue status transitions, highlights regressions (moves back in flow), and lets admins enable the app per project and configure warning/red-dot thresholds.
1. Where to find the app in Jira
- Issue view: open any issue and find the Status flow issue context panel.
- Admin page: Jira Settings → Apps → Workflow Flows.
2. How to read the timeline
The timeline is shown as a vertical sequence in chronological order:
- Each dot represents a status reached by the issue.
- Blue dot: normal forward flow.
- Red dot: moved back/regression detected for that transition.
Below the timeline, the app displays the overall flow state:
- Green: flow did not move back.
- Yellow: flow moved back (includes regression count).

3. Admin configuration
A Jira admin can configure project visibility and thresholds from the app admin page.
- Enable or disable the app per project.
- Search projects and update enabled project list.
- Set global thresholds for warnings and red-dot indicators.
- Optionally set per-project threshold overrides.
Users only see issue timelines for projects enabled by admins.
Example: Admin thresholds
Threshold mode: Global
Warning threshold: 1 · Red-dot threshold: 3
Per-project overrides: enabled for selected projects only

4. What data the app uses
- Issue context and status transition history (changelog) for timeline rendering.
- Project metadata for admin search/enablement.
- App settings stored in Forge storage (enabled projects and thresholds).
The app is read-only for Jira content. It does not edit issues, workflows, statuses, or project configuration.
5. Troubleshooting
- Panel not visible: verify project is enabled by admin and the issue view is opened in Jira Cloud.
- No timeline data: issues without status history may show minimal output.
- Permission errors: ensure the current user has required Jira project access.
